Do you feel hopeless when it comes to losing weight? Here are tips that can help you enjoy the journey to your optimal healthy you.
1. Heal Your Body
We must first look at our body as a tool to help us achieve what we want out of life. If you feel trapped and weighed down by extra weight you can learn to focus on your future self. Your future self is the optimal healthiest most vibrant version of you. And your future self is rooting you on. Look ahead and focus on your end goal. That should and usually can pull you through the tough times.
2. Heal Your Mind
Healing your body starts with healing your thoughts. Sometimes we think negative self-sabotaging thoughts, and they actually hinder our ability to reach our own goals. If you are trying to lose weight, but say negative things to yourself it will be much harder to actually lose weight. But if you are trying to lose weight and you focus on telling yourself positive happy thoughts, then you will be more successful at reaching your goals.
3. Heal Your Emotions
Part of losing and gaining the same weight over and over again is about the feelings and emotions that are stirred up inside. If you are trying to lose weight but refuse to feel your emotions you may find it difficult to reach your end goal.
Pay attention to the foods you eat and why you are eating them. Sometimes we turn to unhealthy foods because we are afraid to feel are emotions. Maybe you crave salty foods, when you mother makes rude comments about you. Or maybe you want ice cream every time you’re boos compliments a coworker and skips over you. It is important to look at triggers and food cravings.
Also look at your overall health. Maybe people trying to lose weight don't consider their oral health as an indicator of their success or ultimate failure. In general diets high in sugar cause more plaque and tooth decay, which means more cavities.
If you want to lose weight for good, then feeling your emotions and chekcing in with your body is the first step.
